Prunus laurocerasus Zsofia (SOFIA) Lands Gold Medal!

Bens Young Plants and Breederplants VOF were awarded a Gold Medal at GrootGroenPlus for their Prunus laurocerasus Zsofia (SOFIA).

Susanne Blom from Bens Young Plants is pictured above with the Award.

Bred by Gabor Nemeth, this is a brand new type of Prunus laurocerasus.

Heat Resistant to 38 Degrees Celsius

This variety is prettier than the common laurocerasus type. She can adapt as a solitair or a hedge. Heat resistant to 38 degrees Celsius, the sun enhances her brightness. By the same token, she will also survive in -25 degrees, with any frost illuminating her.

Compact Growing Baby

A compact growing baby, Sofia has narrow serrated leaves and due to its compact growth is easy to prune into the shape required, such as hedge, sphere, cone or shrub.
