Sustainable Innovations at Griffioen Wassenaar
For many years, perennial grower Griffioen Wassenaar has been consciously working to grow their plants in the most sustainable way possible.
Griffioen’s perennials are grown in low-peat substrates. They always use natural fertilizers in combination with slow release fertilizers whenever possible.
Reducing the 'Plastic Soup'
Griffoen supplies garden centres each year with millions of plants, all supplied in square plastic 1.4 litre pots which come in 6-pack trays.
At this year’s Plantarium, Griffioen will present the innovations which have been developed during the past year in order to contribute to reducing the ‘plastic soup!'
Co-operation with Modiform
This has been done in close co-operation with Modiform, the manufacturer that specialise in producing smart, sustainable custom made solutions for packaging, trays and pots for horticulture.
