Agapanthus Fireworks Wins Again!

At the 10th HTA National Plant Show this week, Agapanthus Fireworks ('AMB001') was declared the winner by the RHS in the election of the 'New Plant Award'.

The jury found that this Agapanthus has the 'wow' factor because of its romantic and natural appearance. It's a beautiful, compact and sturdy plant which is suitable for both in the pot and the border.

South African Bred

Agapanthus Fireworks was entered for the competition by Fairweather’s Nursery, having previously won prizes at both Glee and Chelsea. Agapanthus Fireworks has been bred by De Wet Plant Breeders from South Africa and is represented by Plantipp BV.

Distinctive Selections

The selections from De Wet Plant Breeders are distinctive. This was underlined by the number of medals that their plants won during the show. Agapanthus Poppin' Purple ('MP003') won a Gold medal, with a Silver medal going to Agapanthus Ever Sapphire ('Andbin') and Agapanthus Ever White (‘WP001’) received a Bronze medal.
