'Pillar' of the Grafting World!
Van Aart Boomkwekerijen graft and make cuttings in small numbers and great variety for nurseries and small garden centres who grow trees.
Based in the town of Oudenbosch, in southern Holland, they award large companies licence to produce varieties such as Hibiscus syriacus Purple and White Pillar in large numbers for the global plant sector.
In the past, Hibiscus syriacus 'Gandini van Aart' (White Pillar) has won Silver Medal at the prestigious GrootGroen Plus Trade fair, held in Zundert. This was in the Novelties category. This handsome, slender tree has a narrow plant shape which only few Hibiscus cultivars possess.
Hibiscus syriacus ‘Purple Pillar’ (below) also enjoyed Medal success, winning the Silver prize at Plantarium back in 2012.
Hibiscus syriacus ‘Red Pillar’
A third in this serie of Hibiscus syriacus is set to become reality. Mario Van Aart has now confirmed that they are planning to introduce a Hibiscus syriacus ‘Red Pillar’, in addition to the pillar serie (White Pillar and Purple Pillar). Details of timescale will follow shortly.
Grafting over 1400 Varieties!
Over 57 years of grafting has taught Van Aart Boomkwekerijen that the industry is always looking for new plant varieties. In order to provide a wider choice, this leading nursery now offers over 1400 different varieties which is a record.
