‘Planting for Drought’

‘Planting for Drought’

‘Planting for Drought’

The U.K. experienced an extremely hot and dry summer in 2018. Plants suffered greatly from both the lack of water and the heat.

Many losses were experienced in newly planted gardens and many others were significantly set back.

Most Tolerant Plants

The latest in the series of mini-workshops hosted by Palmstead Nurseries focused on 'Planting for Drought'. This was held last week (April 24).

Delegates discussed which plants are more tolerant to dry conditions, and which plants require less maintenance when faced with dryness and heat. In addition the question of how much water do newly planted plants really need and what irrigation do you need were addressed.

Theme for May Workshop

The theme for the next mini workshop on May 22nd is ‘De-bugging the bugs’.
