City Trees for the Urban Climate
Lorenz von Ehren will be talking about city trees on their stand (7E31) at IPM Essen.
The summer of 2018 produced 30 degrees in Europe, hardly any rain for weeks - even months – and city dwellers suffered from heat due to a lack of shade and clean air.
Trees Provide Measurable Results
Local authorities and cities have spent many years concreting and asphalting. There are plenty of trees that thrive in a city and provide measurable results for everyone. In the LvE climate grove there are 61 trees that are classified as resistant to climate change and meet the recommendations of the nursery, the GALK garden directors’ conference, and the Stadtgrün 21 project.
Climate Change Resistant
“With the climate grove we want to demonstrate how tree species that are classified as climate change resistant might develop in a changing climate, and give our customers and trade visitors the opportunity to examine the trees in direct comparison”, said Bernhard von Ehren, Managing Director.
