New Plants to Debut at Four Oaks!
Despite still being three months away, Pepinières Stervinou have confirmed they will introduce four new plants in September!
Their stand at Four Oaks 2018 will include Camellia Midnight Variegated. This unique variety boasts luminous, dark red semi-double blossoms marbled with white. Flowers appear against a vigorous backdrop of shiny dark-green foliage. This plant blooms from March to April.
Camellia Sweet Olive : (japonica) This has small double blossoms with overlapping petals of pale, almost whitish pink with hearts outlined in dark pink. A rounded form and medium growth habit, this plant was bred in Australia.
Roscoea Spice Island is a hardy and remarkable plant with bright purple blossoms on robust cinnamon-coloured stems measuring 60cm. The orchid-like flowers appear at the end of summer. This is a really decorative foliage.
The fourth new introduction is Distylium (x). Blue Cascade is a little-known evergreen shrub with much to recommend it. Disease-resistant and tolerates dry and hot conditions as well as less than optimal soil. Its elegant, dense and compact cascading foliage is an attractive matte blue-green, with bronze-tinted new shoots. Hardy to -15°C.
